Where family’s gather and life happens. The kitchen is the one communal room at home where kids rush around before school, sneaking snacks, where kettles are boiled and meals are enjoyed.  In this blog we explore the wonderful world of kitchen resprays with QTech airless & HVLP sprayers.

We know only too well the importance of this room so when 2020 came In all its glory, our home lives change dramatically.  Our once food preparation and dinning areas were turned into class rooms and work stations.  Fast forward almost 3 years and a lot of painters and decorators up and down the country have seen a shift in how home owners are now approaching renovations. An increasing amount now seek a high end spray finish that only an airless or HVLP can achieve. Choosing the refresh method totally bypasses the need to spend thousands on installing a brand new kitchen outfit.

Sussex based Greg from Purdie Painting and Decorating was at home when working on this kitchen refresh….literally, it was his home. Evenings and weekends weren’t his own but all the hard work was worth it. The end result was first class.

The first oven section (above) was the old one that Greg colour matched and spray finished using Tikkurila paint along with his QTech5, the top end HVLP turbine performance machine. The oak work top was refreshed using Osmo topoil.

The team at ReNew chose the professional entry-level QTech QT190 with an ultra finish tip to achieve a stunning finish. The cabinets and doors were sprayed with Teknos’ Futura Aqua 40 and tinted to achieve Dulux Heritage’s ‘Mallard Green’ giving a beautiful rich depth and sheen.

This Bloke Paints – Paired with the QTech airless QT190 for 80’s kitchen respray

Our final transformation in part one is from Bateau Bay, New South Wales, Australia. Internal and external decorator James, was an important link in the chain for this renovation project. Refurbing a 80’s home with the owners inspirations in mind of achieving a relaxed coastal luxe. Home owners ‘Reno by the Coast’ documented the progress of their home refurb in stages on their Instagram account.

From a dark and outdated area to a light, calming and coastal retreat. James achieved the ultimate finish using his trusted QT190 along with an ultra finish tip (the tip is essential in maintaining the desired flawless finish). The after images resemble a spread in a home interiors magazine.
